The Need for Regenerative Clothing
We are living in a time where machines are rapidly replacing humans. Rather than uplifting us, most commercial clothes are blocking our connection with nature by becoming toxic objects in commercial games. A conventional piece of clothing is treated with 4,000–8,000 chemical ingredients when it is produced. Twenty-five percent of the pesticides on the planet are used in cotton growing... Our skin, the second largest respiratory organ on our body, is slowly being poisoned. Our bodies and minds are struggling to maintain health while losing their connection to nature and natural products.
We are living in a times led by a profit-driven economic system. Our outdated education system that was developed after WW2 to serve the mass production industry is destroying the free imagination and creative ability of one generation after another. Our design institutions are all based on industrialized design and are training designers that do not have a holistic view of life. Our designers are designing a lifestyle that is separating humans from connecting with themselves, community, and nature. The obsession with fast fashion trends and brands is limiting the senses of the young generation. Our extremely convenient lifestyle is leading us further and further away from a sustainable future. According to a 2019 UN report, by 2050 we will have consumed three earth’s worth of resources.
AWEAR Couture is leading a transformation in the fashion design industry not only by facilitating design and creation of timeless regenerative fashion but also by cultivating designers. This next generation of designers will not only learn the wisdom of the ancestors and a holistic understanding of life, they will understand the deeper connection between design and people and nature. Through experiencing their designs, people will achieve balance and harmony through design. Such designers can guide people to reconnect with themselves, their families, communities, and the earth. Our purpose is to live a regenerative future.

We believe that by wearing all-natural, traditional, handmade clothing, people's five senses can be purified, the power of nature and harmony can be perceived, the energy of life regeneration can be brought, and the human wisdom can be passed on.
